Pierce Distribution Services Company Described as Excellent During Second ISO 9001:2008 Surveillance Audit

Pierce Distribution Services – Pierce Procurement Ltd. located at 3686 S. Central Ave, Rockford Illinois provides strategic third party services to major manufacturing companies nationally. These services include purchasing, dealer returns, warehouse and inventory management, custom crating, export packaging, kitting, general packaging, labeling, private branding, and distribution.

In 2011, Pierce Distribution Services Company - Pierce Procurement Ltd. received certification for Quality Management Systems in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 standards from Intertek. In 2012, the Rockford facility underwent its first surveillance audit and was recommended for continued certification with zero nonconformances. Success has been found again by the Rockford team with a measure of excellence as described by the Intertek Lead Auditor in the executive summary. Excerpts from the summary follow below.

  • Consistent evidence of management commitment, customer satisfaction, knowledge/awareness of policy and objectives being demonstrated by the majority of staff.
  • Internal audits are being performed at planned intervals and are based on status and importance of the Management System. Data is being collected analyzed and reviewed by senior management on a regular basis.
  • The corrective/preventive action process has demonstrated to be effective in practice.
  • Data streams are being used as sources to drive continual improvement over time.
  • Product realization processes are planned and developed. Planning of product realization is consistent with all other Management processes.
  • Resources required for the effective maintenance and improvement of the Management System have been defined and deployed.
  • Improvements have been noted in areas such as customer satisfaction, continual improvement, reduction in waste and process variation.
  • 2013 performance year over year actual is trending positive. The plant has raised the bar on their objectives and targets.
  • The organizations QMS continues to improve with attainment of goals and objectives, internal audit OFIs, and action plans to improve their QMS processes.
  • This is the MS-1 audit. No nonconforminities have been noted during this certification cycle.
