Komatsu America Corporation & Pierce Distribution Services Company have agreed to terms for Pierce to assume operational responsibility for the Komatsu Las Vegas Parts Depot.

This agreement comes on the heels of the announcement that Komatsu will in 2011 construct an addition to their current central parts operation to house the Pierce packaging center. The growth and depth of this partnership has been increasing since the business relationship was established in 1969.

The newly modified Las Vegas operation will open under Pierce management on July 12, 2010 and will initially occupy 31,000 square feet of warehousing space and ensure that Komatsu’s Dealers in the West and Southwest receive next day delivery of equipment service parts. Same day “will call” availability of parts will be supported for local dealers.

For Pierce this is the initial stage in creating a Western United States presence. The building acquired for this operation was leased with a strategy for rapid expansion. Warehousing and value-added services will be immediately available to Pierce’s current customers and to potential customers who have urged Pierce to move west.
